NEIGHBORS STOP US ON EVERY WALK
Jack was three months old when we brought him home, and we knew immediately that we weren’t equipped to give him what he needed. We live in a community with many other dog owners, and Jack needed to learn how to be around people and other dogs safely. Before training, he’d escaped his leash more than once and turned it into a game. He didn’t want to be “tagged.” Those moments caused us real anxiety.

The transformation has been steady and lasting. Now Jack walks calmly on leash, sits quietly while other dogs pass, and only breaks into play with the dogs he knows well. Neighbors stop us regularly to comment on how well-behaved and loveable he is.

What surprised us most was how much of the training was for us, too. As Jack reached each milestone, the team would demonstrate what he’d learned and then show us exactly how to reinforce it at home. That was not something we expected, and it made all the difference.

Jack attends playcare and lodging at Chucktown Charley, and when we tell him he’s going to “school,” he heads straight to the back door. In the car, he goes from window to window, waiting for his turn.

When a staff member comes out to get him, we don’t even have to look up. We simply watch his tail begin thumping against the seat and the side of the car. The excitement he shows speaks volumes about the quality of what Chucktown Charley and their staff provide.

The program ends with a clear plan for what comes next, tailored to your dog and your lifestyle. You’ll also have three months of follow-up support so you’re not on your own the moment the structured work wraps up. Many of our graduates continue with Playcare and boarding at Chucktown Charley, where the same team your dog already knows keeps that foundation strong.
