We’re All Having More Fun
We’d never had a dog before, so we were really starting from scratch and knew we were going to need a lot of guidance.
Training helped Sandy mature a lot, especially Freedom. We figured out that we’re all having more fun when she has more independence. It’s been really helpful for her to get the same instruction and boundaries whether she’s home or at playcare, and helpful for us to be able to say “we need some help with this” from time to time.
Sandy is a super social dog. Even among Goldens she’s probably extra high in this, so getting to play with her dog friends during the day scratches a certain itch for her. We know she’s safe and very loved by everyone at Chucktown, so we can go to work or on vacation and know she’s happy and being well cared for.
She’s always extremely eager to be dropped off and doesn’t even glance back at us. That tells us everything we need to know.
Huck Truly Became a Different Dog
In the beginning, life with Huck was puppy chaos. Lots of energy, not a lot of listening. Walks felt more stressful than fun, and that’s when I knew we needed help.
Huck truly became a different dog. He’s calmer, more responsive, and just easier to enjoy in everyday life. He learned how to be polite and play with other dogs, and the biggest difference is the confidence we both have now.
Chucktown Charley has been such a gift for both of us. Huck lives for his playcare days, and I love knowing he’s somewhere safe, happy, and well cared for. It’s total peace of mind.
It’s been a full-circle experience, from training to years of playcare. I’d tell any dog owner that the investment is so worth it. It truly changes your life, and your dog’s.
Huck still gets excited the second we turn into the parking lot, tail wagging. It never gets old, and it says everything about how much he loves them.
He’s Been a Student for Five Years
Doc was ten weeks old when we enrolled him in Puppy Base Camp with Well Mannered Dog. We had read excellent reviews and knew our little guy would learn the tools to be his best. Seeing him excel each week was a delight for us. Our weekly time with the trainers was impressive, and the guidance they gave us to continue working with Doc at home made a real difference.
After he completed his program, we realized he needed the social time and continued experiences the team provided. We signed him up for playcare every Wednesday and Friday, and it’s amazing to realize he’s been a student for five years now.
This relationship gives Doc social time with his two and four-legged friends each week. He loves going to school. Chucktown Charley has been wonderful accommodating extra needs when we have work being done at home and need additional playcare days.
We’ve allowed Doc to be our guide here. If he didn’t want to go, he would definitely let us know. The fact that he jumps in the car to go and comes home happy speaks louder than words.
