We initially contacted Allison for our Shih Tzu Dallas’s thunderstorm phobia. During storms he would yelp uncontrollably and if in his crate he would bite into the bars and throw himself around. If not in his crate he would run around frantically and go to the bathroom in the house. We also noticed that Dallas was very clingy to me (Karen) and he was happiest spending his time sitting on my foot.
After an evaluation Allison helped us understand that our dog had a lot of insecurity issues, and helping him over come these issues would also help with his phobia. It didn’t take very long into our training for Dallas to not only learn a variety of fun tricks but to also become more independent. We were completely astonished one night when he disappeared and we found him downstairs chewing on a bone! Before training he would NEVER have gone even 2 feet from my side. As for thunderstorms, he can either be in his crate with a mere occasional bark after thunder claps or he’ll lay calm (for the most part) on the floor.
Dog training is a continuous process, and for Dallas to behave his best we work with him daily. Allison gave us all the tools we needed to turn our dog from something we were ready to give away into a great member if the family.
We would highly recommend Allison and Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston for your dog training needs!
Thanks Allison!
