Our Clients Say

Guff is now a very controllable dog. More importantly, I am a more informed pet owner and understand what it is I need to do to get the desired behavior from Guff. It was worth every penny!

Your Place, Your Pace

Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston focuses on in-home private training with follow up group classes. This allows your program to be completely customized to you and your dog’s goals and needs. We provide our clients with a complete training experience from start to finish. We advise you, not only with obedience and problem solving, but also nutrition, exercise, play, communication skills and socialization techniques.

Free Evaluation

The first step is scheduling your free evaluation. On the evaluation, we will ask you a series of questions, as well as observe the dynamic between you and your dog. The answers and observations will enable us to determine the temperament and personality of your dog. After assessing your goals, we will develop a customized training plan for you and your dog adhering very specifically to your needs to give you a direct track to success.

What Methods?

Our training methods are based on the science of operant and classical conditioning. All dogs learn at their own rate and it is often necessary to tweak some of our methods once we see which things produce the best responses from your dog. Our goal is to garner quick results using the most efficient and humane methods. Training does not need to be harsh to get results. Any issues like aggression or anxiety will be dealt with at the root of the problem in order for your dog to overcome the feelings that produce the undesirable behaviors, not just put a band aid on them. Our methods focus on building good communication and trust between owner and dog and tap into your dog’s baser instincts.
