German Shepherd Puppy

Kira the German Shepherd

We heard about Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston from their website. We were looking for more than just classes you can attend to help train a dog. We had a wonderful German Shepherd puppy that was play biting, having accidents in the house, and jumping on everyone that was nearby. We had no idea how to train her and Well Mannered Dog Training was a life saver!

Tanya Perez was our trainer and she was excellent! She has been extremely helpful with all of our issues with our puppy.

She has given us creative solutions to help solve our problems. She has helped us to train our dog into what we originally envisioned she would behave like.

Thanks Tanya for being such an excellent dog trainer! Our favorite part of training would be the “place” command. We can now eat dinner while our puppy sits peacefully in her bed the entire time! We highly recommend Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston to everyone we know! Thank you for all of your help and for teaching us what we need to know to on how to successfully train our dog!

I highly recommend Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston! During our son’s last family visit, I literally had to sit with Callie (our mini-pin/schnauzer mix) to keep her quiet during our granddaughter’s naps. I realized we needed help with Callie & her incessant barking whenever anyone passed by in front of our house (never mind someone coming to the door or coming inside!).

I found Well Mannered Dog Training @ www.dogtrainingcharleston.com. I also asked for my vet’s recommendation – they said Well Mannered Dog Training before I even mentioned them.

Our trainer is Tanya and she is great! She is professional, helpful, knowledgeable and is amazing with Callie. She packs a lot of wonderful info in each session and truly seems to love what she does. She went to work immediately on our “problem” and after that improved, branched to other areas of training to make our life with Callie more enjoyable for all!

And the ease of having the trainer come to your home is fabulous!

I am grateful to Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston and Tanya for all the help, advice & training we’ve received. It is wonderful to see Callie lie QUIETLY in front of the door as neighbors (and even dogs!) walk by. It is so nice for Callie to QUIETLY welcome guests into our home. It is enjoyable to walk Callie and not constantly reign her in from distractions. Thanks again Well Mannered Dog Training and Tanya!!

Blue and Allie the Pit Bulls

For Anyone Considering Dog Training:

I highly recommend Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston for your new puppy to learn obedience skills, for your rambunctious young adult to learn better habits, or even for your older dog to brush up on good manners.

I am the proud owner of two fantastic American Pit Bull Terriers, Blue and Allie. They were good dogs, but had some bad habits to break. Allison came to my home to meet with us and together, we came up with a plan to address the behaviors I wanted to correct. Throughout our weeks of training, Allison taught me techniques and gave me the tools I needed to become more of a leader for my dogs. They, in turn, responded to this new leadership by improving their behaviors. As I watched the improvements taking place, I grew more confident in my own abilities to handle two young, energetic dogs.

The change is amazing for both of them, but especially Blue. On walks, he acted very aggressively towards other dogs we would meet. He would be very hard to control and walks became a chore for us. Allison addressed this issue by having Tanya come over with her dog. Week after week, we would walk Blue up and down the street around other dogs until he learned to control his impulses and act nicely on walks. While training is always an ongoing process and he isn’t perfect yet, he is now able to participate in a group class with several other strange dogs–something I never thought would be possible!

Blue and Allie Sharing Frisbee

We discovered that Allie is actually quite an obedient dog! Her bad behavior was stemming mostly from feeding off of Blue and his antics. Once we got Blue to the point where he was calm, Allie quickly followed suit and she was able to participate in group classes after only a few private lessons and she’s done great at every one. Walking both of them is now something I look forward to doing–not something I dread.

Allison was a great trainer for us and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to work together. She met every challenge Blue and Allie gave her and was very encouraging about their progress. When one technique didn’t work very well, she tried something else that was more effective. I appreciated her not using a one-size-fits-all approach to dog training and each lesson was tailored to our specific situations. If at any time I was uncomfortable with a method she wanted to use, she respected that and found a method that would work for everyone.

I know it sounds like I can’t say enough good things about my experience, and that’s because I really can’t! My only regret was that I didn’t start much sooner.

If you’ve been considering dog training but have been putting it off for some reason–stop waiting! I think every dog deserves to know basic obedience and good manners and Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston is the perfect way to accomplish that.

English Springer Spaniels

English Springer Spaniels

I found out about Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston on the internet.

I have two English Springer Spaniel’s who are three years old. They did not always follow the commands given. Also they like to escape the door and run the neighborhood. I had a visit from the police, dog warden, and the HOA lady. Then the HOA fined me $75.00. I finally decided that they needed formal training.

I have always been able to train my own dogs. Lady is a stubborn dog; she listens when she wants to and did what she wanted. There had to be an end to that.

Tanya was very patient and understanding. There were times when we had to reschedule appointments and that was not a problem.

Tanya also recommended Life’s Abundance dog food. The girls both loved it.

After a few days of feeding the old food in the morning and the new food at night, they stopped eating to old Iam’s food.

I would recommend Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston to friends and family.

I wanted express how impressed I was with Allison as my dog trainer.

She taught me how to overcome my dog’s very difficult behaviors and obstinacy with very easy to understand training tools. She effectively modeled the techniques and showed me how the dog could and would respond to the desired behavior, and/or instructions. Then I was to repeat the same process with my hard-headed little Jack Russell.

What a difference! I finally felt like I had some control!

We certainly go through consistent maintenance, but practice sessions are much more enjoyable. I had a wonderful experience with Allison and the Well Mannered Dog Training Charleston company. I would highly recommend both.
